The Brazil LAB has just published on its Nexo Public Policies platform an article by Brazil LAB’s Postdoctoral Research Associate Guilherme Fagundes. The article draws upon his paper “Fire Normativities: Environmental Conservation and Quilombola Forms of Life in the Brazilian Savanna” and demonstrates how an ethnography based on non-western ecologies can help us reimagine the duality of good fire versus bad fire. Originally published in Vibrant: Virtual Brazilian Anthropology, the study is available here.
