Tuesday, Dec 21, 2021

The Brazil LAB has recently partnered with Brazil’s most important literary fair FLIP (Festa Literária de Paraty) and hosted two very impactful panels to discuss “Nhe’éry, Plants and Literature.”

On November 28, Forests and Collaborative Survivals featured journalist and filmmaker João Moreira Salles and Princeton professor and environmental humanities scholar Rob Nixon (English and HMEI)  in conversation with anthropologist João Biehl (Brazil LAB director).

On November 30, Translating the Forest featured Brazil LAB advisory board member and Princeton alumna Flora Thomson-DeVeaux and literary scholar Katrina Dodson (Columbia) in conversation with Pedro Meira Monteiro (Spanish and Portuguese), co-curator of this year’s FLIP.

The events were livestreamed to FLIP’s YouTube Channel and have already been viewed by over four thousand viewers worldwide.
