Brazil LAB Friend Fernanda Torres Nominated for the Oscars
The Oscars got it right: I’m Still Here, directed by the renowned Walter Salles, has been nominated for both Best Picture and Best International Feature Film at the 2025 Academy Awards.
Adding to this historic achievement, the acclaimed Fernanda Torres has received a much-deserved nomination for Best Actress for her extraordinary performance in the film. We extend our warmest congratulations to Fernanda on this remarkable recognition!
Fernanda Torres’ connection to the Brazil LAB runs deep. She was a key contributor to the LAB’s digital platform Clarice, where her brilliant performance of Clarice Lispector’s iconic short story “O Ovo e a Galinha” was a standout feature. During a special event honoring Clarice Lispector, the Golden Globe winner reflected on how a passage from Near the Wild Heart deeply influenced her approach to her character in I’m Still Here.
We celebrate Fernanda Torres and the entire team of I’m Still Here!
